The Wedding

First of all I wanted to thank you all for reading and commenting my last blogpost about the Paris attacks - it's simply hart-warming to see much love and support spread, and it gives me hope for the futures we're welcoming <3 Now back to an entire different subject...

As anticipated in several posts literally months ago, the weekend of the 7th of November, there was The Big Day, also known as the wedding of my boyfriend's Dad. I went back home to Belgium for the weekend, and had the most wonderful time, spending time with my family, my love, and his family. Saturday was wedding and we started with an early call - I woke up at 6:30 in order to get my make-up, hair and outfit done in time before going for breakfast with champagne with the bride, the groom & the closest family members.

After starting the day with a bang, it was time for the Town Hall, where my boyfriend was best man, together with his twin brother, and suprise suprise, this was ended with another glass of bubbly goodness. To keep us going, lunch with unlimited coffee access was provided, a touch up of make-up was done, and then we went to the most beautiful parc of Belgium, castle included, for a photoshoot with our bridal party. The pictures aren't published yet, but I'm so incredibly curious to see how they turned out! The weather was just perfect, and with all of the Autumn colours surrounding us, I bet the photos will be more than amazing. My guy and I took some photos as well, as you can see below.

After that we were off to the restaurant of the bride & groom, where we had the amazing pre-party (another couple of glasses of champagne, and hors d'oeuvres), lots of talking, almost dying as I'd been wearing my stilettos for quite a long time now, and happily seeing lots of people I hadn't met in a long time. Then my favourite part of the day started: off to the hotel, where the big party would be held, and we went there by limousine. Such a cool and unique experience which I enjoyed very much.

By the time we arrived at the hotel, my feet were falling off, but I pigheadidly kept my Loubies on until 2 am, at which I point I couldn't properly walk anymore, let alone dance, and changed into sandals. Before the party, we had an exquisite dinner, and the theme was Italy, so I think you can all imagine the food was simply delicious, and I ate way too much. The most amazing part of this all was the chocolate fountain, of which I was a very big fan, and went back a couple of times (oops).

The party was simply amazing, we danced till our feet fell off, I had a couple of Belgian beers, and over-all had the most wonderful time -  the entire day defenitely lived up to the great expectations I had. The bride & groom looked so wonderful and radiated happiness, and I'm grateful that I got to spend this special day by their side and share in the happiness.

About the look: my dress is Asos, the jacket Miss Selfridge, the purse Pierre Cardin and this all topped off with Louboutin heels. I actually really liked the high split - it gave this special touch to an outfit and I'm still very happy with my purchase!
