Normandy offers a perfect coastal escape filled with charming towns, scenic walks, and delightful culinary stops. Whether planning a weekend getaway or a longer trip, these dreamy spots promise memorable moments along France’s beautiful northern shores.

Étretat: iconic cliffs and seaside delights

Start your trip in Étretat, famous for its dramatic white cliffs and beautiful seaside views. Enjoy lunch at La Flottille, but make sure to go either early or late as the place tends to get packed. After lunch, take a seaside stroll exploring the pebble beach and quaint streets, then venture on cliff walks to admire panoramic views of the Channel. Don’t forget to treat yourself to ice cream at Le Glacier d’Étretat.

Fécamp: culture and coastal charm

Next, head to Fécamp for a charming walk along the waterfront. The highlight here is the Palais Bénédictine, a stunning historic building that houses a museum and distillery where you can learn about the famous Benedictine liqueur. It’s a cultural gem combined with coastal ambiance, making for a relaxing yet enriching stop. We actually attended our friends' wedding there, which was truly iconic!

Le Havre: shopping and port wanderings

Le Havre offers a contrast with its modernist architecture and port life. Spend time wandering through its streets, enjoy some shopping, or simply observe the busy port activities. The city’s maritime vibe and contemporary art scene create a unique urban-coastal experience.

Saint-Jouin-Bruneval: scenic walks and local flavours

For a tranquil day immersed in nature, visit Saint-Jouin-Bruneval. Here you can enjoy a scenic walk with stunning coastal views, perfect for reconnecting with the outdoors. Lunch at La Frite d’Or is a must, and make sure to book ahead as it’s popular! Afterward, explore Le Panier de Léonie, a treasure trove of local specialties and artisanal finds. Kids will love spotting cows in the nearby fields (Max’s favorite part of the trip).

Rouen: historic charm

On the return journey to Paris, make a stop in Rouen, Normandy’s historic capital. Wander through its medieval streets lined with half-timbered houses, discover the magnificent Rouen Cathedral, and soak in the atmosphere of its lively squares and cafes. Rouen perfectly blends rich history with a vibrant city life - a fitting, charming end to your Normandy adventure.

Normandy’s blend of natural beauty, cultural stops, and delicious food makes it a dreamy coastal destination to discover. Pack your walking shoes and appetite for a trip full of seaside charm and family memories.
