Autumn seems to hit the city good and well, and even though I still refuse to wear tights or my beloved wool camel coat, I'm slowly preparing my wardrobe for the moment the cold really hits the city. This season I'm obsessed with combining basic grey, white and black pieces with fun pops of colour, such as mustard, mandarin orange and blue, to brighten up grey days.
I'm kind of a modern gal, not planning to get married anytime soon, nor dreaming of a fancy white wedding dress, but what I do love, is attending weddings, and all that comes with it. I love planning out a fancy outfit, do my hair, do my make-up, be surrounded by utter happiness all day, and congratulate the newly wed couple with a glass of champagne. I love the atmosphere on weddings, the positive vibe, and those big smiley faces.
This weekend I'm leaving for a mini-holiday to the South of France, for a tour of the Pays-Basque, where my friend Gwladys is from, and I'm mentally preparing my suitcase, whereas I'll finally be able to take my Summer outfits out and spend all day in a bikini on the beach, and just throw a light dress over for the evenings out in the city. It's my first time going to this side of the South of France, and I'm looking forward to discovering a new place & enjoy the sun for a few days.
I haven't ordered many things from Boohoo yet, but the stuff I ordered up there I love dearly (see here, here and here-, and now that they're doing up to -80% discounts, I decided to have a stroll through their webshop and make my selection of the best deals I'd most definitely wear. So here you go, a styleguide the Pastellics way, with pretty crazy discounts. Wishlisted for sure, and hopefully placing an order soon - swooning over that pink dress with feathered details and the grey cropped jumper I've been looking for for ages now.
When in Paris about a year ago, I saw a lot of people walking around with cool Uniqlo shopping bags, a brand I hadn't heard of before, but I was curious and went to check out their store near the Opéra. I fell in love with this Japanese brand immediately, as I love that their three keywords are simplicity, quality and longevity, and the good price for the amazing quality you get.

It's wedding season, and I have a wedding coming up very soon! Like the control freak I am, I'm already planning what I'll wear this day, because you know, that's one of my favourite parts about a marriage. Since the wedding is planned in October this year it's probably a tad early to start looking for a dress, but I did start brainstorming on what to wear. I browsed Asos, found some really nice dresses and a fancy jumpsuit, and then I realised, you don't HAVE to impress with a dress. Why not be more original? And then I came with a genious plan. What if I made things easy for myself, and just wore a plain LBD? Throw in some nice black heels, a nice popping lipstick, and impress with a clutch? Oh yes, this one is going to invest in a crazy clutch that will stand out, and be the center piece of the ouftit. Also this way I don't have to be scared to be mayorly overdressed (my style tends to be slightly different from people around me), and bags are investment pieces. Sort of. Anyway: let the hunt begin!
What do you think? Good plan? Or too dark for a wedding? What do you wear for a wedding? Keep in mind it's October, so the flowy cream dress I had in mind is off the list. We're speaking about Belgium after all, so I'm expecting a cloudy cold day.
