Wildfox Couture

4:52 PM Imke 24 Comments

This is my last post of 2012. I hope you lovelies had an amazing Christmas and got lots of presents. Mine was amazing! I was so happy with everything I got from my loved ones! The other days were all about studying, except for Friday, when I had some quality time with L. & C., two amazing friends! We went out for dinner and did a little shopping, but I kept calm and only bought nailpolish (Max Factor's Fantasy Fire, amazing colour!). Yesterday I had a little family party because it was my nephew's birthday, and now I'm back at my desk.
I hope you like my newest outfit combo: white with white and florals. I bought the Wildfox sweater from Belgian fashionista Tiany Kiriloff, recently chosen as one of the most fashionable girls by Elle UK! The dress is a basic H&M dress and pairing this makes it comfy and a white statement in a season full of darkness.

Christmas Hairdo

Busy busy busy! Exams are getting closer and closer and stress is coming up. It's been a stressfull period for me, as I had to finish tasks and stick to deadlines, but I wanted to share my hapiness of the day with you. I didn't believe the world would end today, but still I'm glad to be here. Christmas and New Year are getting closer, and I'm sure it will be lovely. I tried my planned Chrismas hairdo today, with the casual make-up, and I hope you like it. It's the first time ever I've done a side French braid, so I'm hoping to get better at it by Monday. For the rest I'll be studyin, studying studying till I drop, so wish me luck.

The Fashionistas Closet Sale

11:56 PM Imke 20 Comments

Some of you may have seen this on my Facebook page alraedy, but my laptop died last Monday, so right now I'm updating from my Mum's laptop, not very convenient but better than being unreachable, right? It's been a while since my last update, and I got some lovely stuff at two closet sales. I went to a closet sale of a friend of mine as I told you in my last post, and last Saturday, I went to THE FASHIONISTAS - CLOSET SALE in Antwerp. It was a lovely little event, where five famous Belgian fashion ladies sold some of their clothes/bags/shoes. And by that I mean the huge brands like Chanel, Prada, Miu Miu, even a Birkin bag was spotted, but down-to-earth brands like Zara and H&M as well. It was not really well-know, so only the fashion insiders were there, if I may say so. The women selling their clothes were Tiany Kiriloff (BELMODO), Anne Poelmans (ELLE), Virginie Morobe (designer March23), Delphine de Somer (designer DDS), Caroline Verdonck (owner Cosi Cosi) and Emma Gelaude (myfashionblog.be). I really admired their sense of style and amazing clothes, and they were really friendly as well, and tried to help whenever possible. The prices were amazing as well, I have to say. I got a Wildfox sweater, a Karl Lagerfeld bag, a Chanel make-up bag and a Yuki dress for a little more than €30! I was so happy when I walked out, it was just lovely. Oh, and Pieter Loridon was there as well, famous former Belgian basketball player, who now owns a coffee company. He made me a delicious strong coffee with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and most importantly little pieces of syrup waffle. Yummy! A perfect day of shopping, I must say.

This is yesterday's outfit, better late than never, while wearing my new Wilfox sweater! I'm not really happy about the way I look in these photos, but I hope you still like the outfit.

To all the Dutchies & Belgian: FIJNE SINTERKLAAS! Today we, people from the Low Countries, celebrate the day of the Good Holy Man 'Sinterklaas', which means you get candy, a present and mandarins if you've been a good girl/boy in the past year. Get into the Sinterklaas hype by clicking here. I was thinking I wouldn't get a present because I'm getting too old to be celebrating this holiday, but you can't believe how happy I got this morning! It is said Sinterklaas comes at night to put the candy in your shoes, but in my case, it was the postman that rang my doorbell and gave me a parcel. My diggmates came looking as well, and when I opened the package I was like a little girl again: a box full of chocolates, cookies and many other sweet stuff! My lovely parents Sinterklaas had thought of me, so I guess you can say I've been a good girl this year.

Mrs. Good Girl over here had an amazing day yesterday. I went shopping with my girls in Ghent, and we had lots of fun. Winter has arrived, which means snow snow snow, but the cold couldn't take away the fun. We had a fancy dinner at McDo and went to the Closet Sale of my friend afterwards. I got three lovely pieces, and my girls got some stuff as well, I'll show them asap! When we got back home, it was very-very-early-Christmas-gifts-time! We had bought each-other little presents, and it was such a lovely night. They gave me marshmallows and a LUSH bath bomb. Lovely! And now this happy girl is crawling into bed. Nighty-night!

Winter blues

8:49 PM Imke 16 Comments

I've had two days full of headaches, so badly my head is pounding and I feel quite sick. Winter blues, I guess, I hope it gets better soon. That time of the year where you can only wear jumpers and woolen dresses has arrived, and I decided there's no such thing like dressing too warm, especially when you're feeling ill. I need to buy more jumpers, and spotter some cuties already. I'm going to shop with my lovely diggmates tomorrow, so we'll be having a lot of fun for sure. We're going out for dinner together, and afterwards we're going to a closet sale of a friend of mine - she has a blog as well. Go check it out, and now that you're at it, watch a friend of mine singing as well, he's great, I assure you. And last thing I have to say: please join my give-away dear readers, there are 25 Firmoo vouchers to win!

Winter colours

2:45 PM Imke 23 Comments

The weather's getting colder & colder, it's started freezing at nights, and I don't want to let go of colours. I decided to use some pops of colour in my outfit, to remind myself of something other than cold and darkness. This weekend was lovely. Yesterday, my best friend and I did a little Christmas shopping, and afterwards, my family and I went out for dinner at the best Italian restaurant in town to celebrate my Dad's birthday. The only thing about Winter that I like are the cozy sweaters, the cups of tea, the cuddling because you're cold and hot chocolate. Oh, and Christmas presents of course. Besides that, I can't wait till Summer's back.

To the music fans among you: I don't know if I've told you before or not, but a friend of mine is a really good singer, and he put online a song of his. He's a little insecure about his singing, but I think he's amazing! You should go check out his version of BREAKEVEN. I could listen to this singing on and on, and so should you. This guy will be famous some day, for sure. Click and support!

Oh, and please do join my Firmoo give-away! You can win vouchers each worth 20$, so don't hesitate and join.

Firmoo Giveaway

10:28 PM Imke 27 Comments

And yet again this post starts with some wonderful news! I'm very proud to announce a new give-away on this blog. This time it's Firmoo that's so sweet to give you the chance to win 25 vouchers each worth 20$ to spend on their website. Oh, and don't forget that doesn't include shipping, and you can't pick designer glasses with the voucher. But besides that, I think this is a lovely opportunity for you to get new glasses of sunglasses! All you have to do is fill in the Rafflecopter and you're done, easy as that. You have time until December 15, as the voucher will expire December 25. Hurry hurry!

Other than the give-away, I received something new and fabulous in my mailbox: a new pair of Boohoo wedges! They're really crazy, but I love them!  I've always wanted a pair of Gaga cut-out heels, but I could never find them in my size at a reasonable price. These were only €38, so that's really cheap, compared to the Jeffrey Campbell nightwalks! I'm reaaaaaly tall wearing these cuties, 195 cm to be precise, and they told me people were looking at me - a lot. But I don't care, I'm the only girl at my school with this kind of heels, so I feel quite fashionista ;) You can check them out here, but I warn you, they're on the edge! But to be honest, they walk really good. People think it's hell to walk in these wedges  but it's just the same as regular heels. They're really special, but I'm so glad I bought them!

Scrunchie fever!

2:11 PM Imke 39 Comments

My days are as busy as ever, but I'm proud to show you my newest eBay haul: a pink velvet scrunchie! I noticed it already at the Olympics, but now the trend seems to have arrived in the blogging world as well. My diggmates were very nostalgic about they, appeared they'd worn it a lot during their childhood, in every colour possible. Every trend comes back at one point, and now it's time for Mrs Scrunchie to do so! You can see Amy Valentine, one of my fav bloggers rocking it over here, and thanks to this lovely lady I was able to order one from eBay very cheap, check out the link over here. Over with the days were scrunchies were horror, I say! Now I'm off to school again, so see a French movie. Oh la la, au revoir!

London life

10:20 AM Imke 23 Comments

Sorry it's been such a while again, but my days have been crazy, therefore the lack of posts! I've been to LONDON from Wednesday until Friday.. I love London so much, it's unbelievable, and I feel so happy when I'm there. I really needed a break from the busy school/volleyball/work-life, and this was the perfect break. I'm still tired from walking all day and not sleeping much, but it was totally worth it! We visited nearly everything, and I did some shopping as well. I didn't buy as much as I wanted to, because I'm really picky, but I found some lovely stuff. I bought some Primark items like tights and hair-buns, a lovely nude Forever 21 dress, a flowered Topshop dress and my first Victoria's Secret bra! Also, I bought some souvenirs for my sister, parents and my best friend. My favourite place to visit was Westminster. I love Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament, and everything is just so beautiful. I loved those little streets with little shops and a lovely atmosphere and great food. We did two museums as well, and saw some really famous paintings, like The Sunflowers by Van Gogh and some compositions by Piet Mondrian. Here are some photos from my lovely trip, I hope you like them!

Look of the Week at CosmoGirl!

4:07 PM Imke 43 Comments

I had such a lovely time this week, and I feel so happy; I had such a great time yesterday when I went out for dinner with friends from secondary school I hadn't seen for about a year or so. I decided to dress up a little, wearing my Oasap lace vest and my strapless DinoDirect dress! Yet again I have to warn you that you have to buy DinoDirect stuff one or two sizes larger than you usually wear, their clothes are really small. But I was so happy to receive this dress, I like it a lot and you combine it in so many ways. I paired it with this little lace vest for a chic look.

But, very important news: I'M LOOK OF THE WEEK @ CG! I was chosen to be Look of the Week by CosmoGirl Netherlands, but if you vote for me, I can become Look of the Month and appear in CG, my favourite fashion magazine! I would be so incredibly happy if you would take the time to do this, that would be so sweet of you, my lovely readers. You can vote for "Admirably Pretty" using this link: http://www.cosmogirl.nl/lookofthemonth/38325-look-of-the-month-oktober/

Tiger Sweater

8:54 AM Imke 36 Comments

I was so incredibly happy when I came home Wednesday after having a shitty day as I was up so early because I couldn't sleep all night! I came home and a DinoDirect package was waiting for me! It was the lovely tigerrrrrr sweater I'd ordered some time ago, and I was so happy when I opened up the package. It's so soft and I just love the little bow-tie. But one tip when you order at DinoDirect and you're a tall girl like me: pick a large size. This sweater is XXL and as you can see, it fits! And then I wonder who could ever fit into a size small over there... Now I'm back to studying, as I have a Dutch exam today, think of me at 10 AM!

Girly look

11:35 AM Imke 36 Comments

I'm feeling quite a lot better, thank you for all your kind comments. This outfit is Friday's and yesterday's look, but as my weekend has been busy so far, I decided to put online this look today. I like this girly skirt, and it went so well against this kitty sweater. I love everything with a kitty print, so this sweater is one of my favourites! Today will be less busy, as I only have to make homework and prepare my suitcase to go back to Ghent, and after that I'm off to my work!

Skirt - Pimkie

Sweater weather

11:04 PM Imke 28 Comments

Autumn has arrived officially now, because I have the flu and sinusitis and feel like crap. I wanted to wear my big fat warm sweater, to feel comfortable, and in order to make it  not entirely about comfort, I paired it with my brown leather skirt. I like how the yellow goes along with the leather! I hope you don't see too much how  crappy I feel, because I managed to smile especially for you in these photos. Tonight, my digmates and I got free pizza and drinks from our housekeeper, how awesome is that? Afterwards we played Harry Potter Cluedo (HP marathon, remember?) and I did fairly well, regarding the fact that it's the only game I'm not good at. Not to be bragging, but usually I'm pretty good at party games, but Cluedo is not my cup of tea. I wouldn't make a good detective I guess.

And for those of you who feel sick as well; watch fashion shows! I watched quite a lot of them yesterday, and the one I liked best was Louis Vuitton S/S2013. If you haven't seen it yet, do so over here, because it's the best show I've seen in a while.

Harry Potter Marathon

4:53 PM Imke 18 Comments

Sorry again for the lack of updates. School is killing me, really! The second year in college is way heavier than the first one so far. Days are very long, and my headaches get worse. Luckily there are many things that make me happy! My dig-mates and I are hosting a Harry Potter three-week-marathon! Yesterday, we saw the first movie, and we're going to eat Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and drink Butter Beer. My best friend Chiara went to New York this Summer, and she brought the Beans with her, so they're the real ones. The tastes include vomit and black pepper, yikes. Crossing my fingers on getting something like vanilla or apple. Also, my parents went shopping with my sister but without me, as I had loads to do for Uni, and they got my the Steven Madden shoes I've been lusting after for months and months, but never bought them, and now my parents gave them to me! I'm so happy! They're amazing, and I want to wear them all the time! Also, they got me a Marc Jacobs iPad case, it's so beautiful! You can see it here, as I didn't take a picture of it yet! I felt so happy this weekend!
