Mary Katrantzou x VS

As you've been able to read on my blog before, one of my absolute favourite brands out there is Mary Katrantzou. I used to work with them when I lived in London, and worked front of house for two of their shows at Central Saint Martins during London Fashion Week. Two of the most incredible experiences - you can read more about SS16 here and about AW16 here.

So when pictures of the latest Victoria's Secret runway show started popping up on my Instagram feed, I was thrilled to read about their collab with Mary Katrantzou. It's VS's very first collab with a female designer, and the colourful, uplifting, bold, and strong designs couldn't be more perfect. The patterns and colours Mary Katrantzou is so well known for are like a second skin, but more colourful, happier and confidence-boosting. Hoping to be able to hop on a Eurostar soon to discover the capsule collection in London's Victoria's Secret boutique!

Sacha Silver Platform Shoes

Last Summer, I already wrote this article about platform shoes, and it's been ever for longer that I'm obsessed with platform shoes – as you know, I'm a big big fan of basically all Nineties trends. So when I spotted this silver star-printed pair of plaform shoes on the webshop of Sacha, I fell in love at one.

Nineties Kid

As you may have noticed on several occasions, I love falling back on trends from the nineties, such as chokers, crop tops, fish tights and several other trends. One of the trends I've never understood and I've always refused to wear is wearing a t-shirt underneath your dress. I remember aged 7 or 8, I was shopping with my Mum and there was this spaghetti strap dress I really liked, but my Mum told me I could only wear this dress with a t-shirt underneath, and the shop owner completely agreed. I blankly refused to do so, went home without the dress, and have refused to wear a shirt under my dress on every single occasion in my life, whether it was my Mum suggesting so, or when one or two years ago every single fashion blogger was wearing this trend.

Statement Tee & Choker

Think about putting together a grey statement shirt, a pastel pink faux leather skirt, a velvet pearl choker and massive pink sunnies, and it seems like the worst outfit ever. Nevertheless I decided to combine all these items, and the outfit came out perfectly. A new favourite even.

Pastel & White Sneakers

White sneakers have been a big hit for quite some time by now, and I finally got my very own pair as well - better late than never, right? I got these beauties from Goliath, they're called the Dutch Army Trainer II, and are now on sale - go & get 'm here if you like them : click

Summer Platform Shoes

Platform shoes seem to have taken it over from classic heels & flat shoes. Sneaking in some extra centimetres all while being comfortable and with a stronly reduced chance of tripping, I'm a fan. I do own a pair of platform shoes but they're literally falling apart so the time might have come to say goodbye to them...

Cold Shoulder Blouse

I seem to have developed an obsession with baring my shoulders: cold shoulder blouses & no-shoulder tops have been trending for a long time now, and I'm digging it! Even though the name "cold shoulder" always reminds me of the hard shoulder on the motorway (don't as me why) and it's a dangerous look for a broad-shouldered girl like me, I can't get enough of this look.

Off-shoulder Choker Top

The nineties are back for real, and I've never been happier about it. I've always been a 90'S kind of gal, still listening to the Backstreet Boys, Eminem and good old Britney, playing Pokénon & watching Rocket Power. My style can sometimes downright look like I came straight from a time machine.

As Seen on Me: Seventies Style

You could read in my Asos shopping guide earlier this month, I'm quite crushing on the seventies trend that's yet again a big thing this summer. We pretended to be a few decades back in the past last winter already, and the trend is here to stay. Embrace those suède skirts, denim dungarees, flared trousers and colourful stripes, and don't forget to add a modern touch.

Asos Trend Report: 70's Style

This post is the third (and last, boohoo) one in a series op Spring/Summer 2016 Trend Reports, the subject being the Seventies, featuring (almost) everyone's favourite online shop, Asos. I'm now an official ambassador of Asos France, with which I'm so incredibly happy because as y'all know, Asos = life which I decided to combine with Spring/Summer 2016 and their specific trends finally getting very close.

As Seen on Me: Geek Chic

As you might remember from this post earlier this month, one of my favourite trends for this Summer is the 'geek chic' look, better known as Granny goes 2016. I went for an (almost) all ASOS look, the trousers being Asos Tall, and the turtleneck and glasses being Asos as well. You might be slightly weirded out by me wearing glasses, and you have the right to be, as I absolutely don't need glasses. I've always hated the trend to wear glasses when you don't actually need them but it seems like about 10 years after this was trendy, I decided to embrace this style. It can totally change your look, and goes so well with the Geek Chic look I had in mind.

Asos Trend Report: Metallic

This post is the second one in a series op Spring/Summer 2016 Trend Reports, the subject being Metallics, featuring (almost) everyone's favourite online shop Asos. I'm now an official ambassador of Asos France, with which I'm so incredibly happy because as y'all know, Asos = life, and we're now off for a month of Asos infused posts, which I decided to combine with Spring/Summer 2016 and their specific trends finally getting very close.

Asos Trend Report: Geek Chic

This post is the first one in a series op Spring/Summer 2016 Trend Reports, the subject being the Geek Chic look, featuring (almost) everyone's favourite online shop ASOS. AsI'm now an official ambassador of Asos France, which I announced on Instagram this week, and with which I'm so incredibly happy because as y'all know, Asos = life, and we're now off for a month of Asos infused posts, which I decided to combine with Spring/Summer 2016 and their specific trends finally getting very close.

This particular post focusses on the Geek Chic style, better know as Granny goes 2016. It's interesting how trends change, and for Spring/Summer 2016 we don't go for short summer skirts and dresses, but keep it conservative, but with a chic twist. Pleated midi skirts, turtlenecks, Peter Pan collars, Mary Jane shoes paired with a big pair of nerdy glasses and a tight bun are trendier than ever, and seen as a stylish and chic look. A great Spring style, and obviously perfect to wear in the office as well - I'm a fan! SHOP NOW.

Pantone Colour of the Year

The colour of the year set by colour specialist Pantone, is Rose Quartz (more simply said:  pastel pink a.k.a. the colour of my life). Pantone Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, Rose Quartz reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted spring and summer months.

Metallic Hair Tattoos

I wrote about temporary gold & silver tattoos this summer, and now this trend is back, but with a twist. Now temporary tattoos are worn in the hair, to give this special extra touch to your look, and perfect for a party or just to spice up that little black dress. I decided to go for the last option - go for a simple black look with a leather jacket, a red lip and some golden tattoos in my hair.

White Ankle Boots

A couple of years ago I would have cringed at the thought of wearing white boots, I honestly despised white shoes in general. I once owned a pair of white heels, and this was more of a love-hate-relationship we had. But as we all know, style changes, as does your taste in fashion, and when spotting these beauties on the New Look sale I couldn't resist. Especially for €12. (I'm the queen of online sales, really).

Holidays Hair-do

Holidays are coming up very soon: less than a month away from Christmas, and with Sinterklaas officialy over (sadly enough) it's now time to shift my focus from pepernoten and chocolate letters to Christmas and New Year, time lovingly spent with my family back home, and, quite imporantly, what to wear, how to do my make-up, and what to do with my hair. I love scrolling through Pinterest and watching YouTube tutorials, looking for inspiration, and decided to share some of my favourite hair looks with you, looks that are potentially to be mine for the Holidays.

Fishnet Tights

Fishnet tights, also known as how to find the balance between rock-chick and hooker. Even though I love all things pastel, long hair, a nice nude lipstick & will always prefer a dress over jeans, I've always played with the thought of being a rock chick kind of girl, thoughts that started popping up right after Taylor Momson a.k.a. Jenny from Gossip Girl made this bad-ass transformation from nice schoolgirl to racoon-eyed rebel. I've never fully given into this tendancy, but I like to balance on the verge between the girly I-love-everything-pink kind of girl and the biker-boots-and-leather-jacket kind of girl. I love combining a girly dress with a chunky leather jacket, add a heavy cat-eye to the blouse & pencil skirt look, and wear my boots under literally anything. Another big inspiration for this look is gorgeous Luanna from Le Happy blog (hair goals).

Trend colours - #2: White

After my first colour trend report earlier on the blog (read it here), it's time for trend colour number two: white.

Scream Queens

As a big fan of Emma Roberts (role-model!) I've been wanting to see the new series 'Scream Queens' ever since its release was announced. Unfortunately, lack of time didn't allow me to watch from the pilot release on, but I'm proud to say I just finished catching up with the first seven episodes, inbetween all things going in life right now. And I must admit, it was just as I had anticipated - I'm hooked my dear readers, on this amazing series that sets the perfect mix between horror, comedy and chick flick.
